CETAA supports economically weaker and meritorious students to pursue their professional education in CET by providing scholarship namely Growing Engineers Monetary Support (GEMS) scheme. This year managing committee of GEMS selected 101 students for scholarships, which were distributed on 27th March 2016

        As you all are aware, supporting our needy students is the goal of GEMS scholarships. However, we have to ensure financial sustainability in the longer term for reaching out to the needy students. Even though we initially targeted for a principal amount that could offer 101 scholarships every year, which sounded far-fetched in 2010, we could achieve it within two years in 2012. The clear benefit is that one single donation does so much for so many students in need. That’s still true today. But it is never enough and we are conscious that we can never rest on our laurels. And due to the decrease in the interest rates on deposits, in order to offer the same scholarships as in earlier years, we need to go much farther than this. We must always seek out new and creative ways of sustaining the future of these social commitments but these now need to be on the global stage. We would like to urge a continued push by all concerned. So, please spread this to the CETians in your contacts requesting them to invest in a caring alumni community.
