The late Prof. S. Rajaraman was Professor of Civil Engineering during the 1950's in the old college campus. In 1958 he became the founder Principal of the newly started Govt. Engineering College, Thrissur. Later in 1966 he became the Director of Technical Education. The office of the DTE was then located in the red brick building, which now houses the College of Fine Arts.
Prof. Rajaraman has authored several text books in Civil Engineering in subjects such as Building materials, Building construction, Geometrical Drawing, Strength of Materials etc. After retirement, he led a quiet and peaceful life.
