An Associate of the Indian Institute of Science (A.I.I.Sc.) and acquiring a Ph.d from the University of Travancore, Dr. M.V. Kesava Rao joined the faculty of the College of Engineering, Trivandrum after getting industrial training in Metropolitan Vickers, U.K. He was the Principal of the college during 1950 to 1961 in the old college campus. He became Director of Technical Education in 1961. After retirement he was appointed as special officer to establish the Regional Engineering College, Calicut. After establishing REC, he went to Mysore and worked as professor of Electrical Engineering at the National Institute of Engineering. Dr. Kesava Rao was an authority in Electrical Machinery.
