As a part of reconstructing the society after the 2018 floods, Kerala Government had initiated a project to reconstruct all the damaged and lost houses through “ CARe” (Cooperative Alliance to Rebuild). The project was handled by the “Cooperative Societies Department”. College of Engineering has been an active partner in phase 1 of the CARe mission, which focused on rebuilding individual homes for the affected families.

The faculty members and the students alike were part of this joint effort and had worked tirelessly to help in the process of rebuilding a total of 287 houses in the districts of Alappuzha, Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram. The services of our College included Site visits, discussion with clients for their requirements, architectural designing of the new homes and providing the approval drawings. It was completed successfully. On 15th February 2021, the Cooperative Societies Department of Kerala has honoured the faculty members and students considering our efforts in making the CARe mission a success, Honorable Minister for Corporation and Devasom, Sri. Kadakampally Surendran presented this trophy to the Principal.
