CETAA, was formed in 1976 with the aim of establishing rapport with former students and the college and to have common programs which will be mutually beneficial.
CETAA now has about 15,000 members and is increasing every year. Now, CETAA has chapters at Chicago, Dubai, Delhi, Kuwait, Bangalore, America and Kochi.
Instituting awards and scholarships to reward excellence in curricular and extra curricular activities has been one of the major activities of CETAA. CETAA day celebration is carried out every year during November.
The CETAA General Body meeting conducted at CET, on 30 June decided to propose the construction of a Guest house with 3 star facilities at the campus for the guest faculty and CETAA members visiting the college for the various official purposes. College of engineering at present lacks such a facility and badly is in need for a guest accommodation which now depends on different hotels in the city. As suggested by Dr. J. David, Principal CET, the executive committee decided to proposed this project to CETAA members worldwide circles for their comments, approval and suggestions.
We suggest all CETAA members to respond to this regards.
The Honourable Chief Minister of Kerala Sri. Oommen Chandy inaugurated the Platinum jubilee CETAA DAY and CETAA Global Meet 2014 of College of Engineering Trivandrum on 8th November 2014 at 9.30 AM. Sri. M A Vahid. MLA presided the function. Dr. S Sheela, Principal of CET welcomed the Golden jubilee batch (1964), the Silver jubilee batch (1989) and other distinguished guests and alumni to the function. Dr Kuncheria P. Isaac, VC, Kerala Technological University, Dr. J. Letha, VC, Cochin University and about 1000 other alumni around the globe attended the function.
College of Engineering Trivandrum is celebrating its Platinum Jubilee during 2014 - 2015. The year long celebrations was inaugurated by the honourable President of India Sri. Pranab Mukherjee on 18th July 2014. Here is the inaugural speech by The President:
"I am happy to join you for the inauguration of the Platinum Jubilee of the College of Engineering Trivandrum (CET), which is the oldest engineering college in Kerala. First of all, let me congratulate you all on this institution crossing a significant milestone."

First Entrance batch of CET - 1987, proudly handed over the renovated SARGAM premises in CET campus, as a token of love and affection to their alma mater. The work was completed at a cost of Rs.20 lakhs, funded and managed by batch members.

The members of 1962 batch donated an amount of Rs. 70,000/- towards the purchase of Malayalam books to main library of CET. They also donated 4 Mural Paintings worth Rs. 3 Lakn to the CETAA Hall.

The Principal's conference hall was renovated by the CETAA UAE Chapter. They spent Rs. 2.5 Lakh for the renovation.

1958 batch made the "Golden Walkway" in front of the college during their Golden Jubilee Celebrations, They spent 6 Lakh for this.
